We’ve Closed $1M in Funding to Build the Standard for Clinic–Lab Collaboration

Today, we’re proud to share that Smile Genius has closed $1 million in funding to date. This milestone supports our long-term mission: to make Smile Genius the de facto standard for clinic–lab collaboration across the dental ecosystem.

Dental workflows remain unnecessarily fragmented. Clinics, labs, and Dental Groups still rely on emails, spreadsheets, disconnected portals, and manual follow-ups to manage cases, orders, and payments. From day one, my belief has been simple — the problem isn’t a lack of software, it’s the lack of shared infrastructure.

Smile Genius exists to solve that.

Why We’re Building Smile Genius

We started Smile Genius to create a single collaboration layer where clinics, labs, and Dental Groups can work together clearly, efficiently, and at scale. What began as a clear aligner case management solution has evolved into a broader platform that supports end-to-end clinic–lab workflows, with a growing focus on group-led operating models.

Our platform enables:

  • Centralised lab ordering and case tracking across clinics and labs

  • A single, structured workflow that replaces fragmented emails and follow-ups

  • Clear accountability across prescriptions, production, delivery, and invoicing

  • Digitised order lifecycle with full context preserved in one place

What Dental Groups Gain

As groups scale, the complexity of lab spend increases exponentially. Smile Genius gives Dental Groups the ability to introduce structure, transparency, and financial control without slowing clinics down.

Specifically, groups can now:

  • Create accountability and transparency in lab invoice approvals before payments are released

  • Digitise order workflows so every invoice is traceable back to a confirmed clinical order

  • Analyse lab spend in real time across clinics, regions, and suppliers

  • Identify consolidation opportunities across their portfolio to negotiate group-level pricing

This moves lab spend from reactive finance work to proactive operational decision-making.

For dentists, the platform removes ambiguity.

Dentists now have a real-time view of:

  • Automatically issue invoices matched against completed orders

By digitising the full order lifecycle, labs spend less time chasing information and more time focusing on production quality and turnaround.

What This Funding Enables

The funding we’ve raised to date has allowed us to invest deeply in product, engineering, and early enterprise adoption. It’s given us the ability to build alongside clinics, labs, and group operators who experience these challenges every day.

Going forward, this funding will help us:

  • Expand Smile Genius across additional dental workflows

  • Deepen adoption with Dental Groups, clinics, and lab partners

  • Invest in AI-powered insights that improve operational and financial decision-making

  • Support international expansion as we scale

Our ambition is straightforward: when a clinic places, tracks, or pays for lab work, Smile Genius should be the system they expect to use.

Looking Ahead

We’re still early, but the direction is clear. As dentistry continues to consolidate and scale, collaboration, accountability, and transparency can no longer be afterthoughts — they need a shared standard.

And this funding milestone is an important step on that journey.
