We’re delighted to announce that Matt Everatt has joined Smile Genius as an advisor, strengthening our leadership team at a pivotal stage in our growth journey. With more than 30 years of experience across clinical, technical, and industry-facing roles, Matt brings a rare depth of insight into the realities of modern dentistry, spanning laboratories, clinics, education, and technology. His appointment reflects our commitment to building Smile Genius alongside leaders who deeply understand both the clinical and operational challenges facing the dental industry.
A leader respected across the dental profession, Matt is widely recognised as one of the UK’s most accomplished Dental Technicians and Entrepreneurs. His expertise spans sleep medicine, bruxism, temporomandibular disorders (TMD), orthodontics, and occlusion, with a career grounded in precision, collaboration, and improving patient outcomes.
He began his professional journey in UK dental hospitals, gaining specialist experience in maxillofacial, orthodontic, and dental sleep medicine before transitioning into commercial dentistry. Matt went on to start S4S Dental Laboratory, where, over more than two decades, he helped build the organisation into one of the UK’s leading independent dental laboratories. Following his exit as Director in 2025, Matt continues to focus on new ventures and sector-wide initiatives that advance standards, education, and innovation. A recognised specialist in the design and manufacture of occlusal splints, mandibular advancement devices, and orthodontic appliances, Matt’s work spans the full spectrum of dentistry. His particular focus on bruxism management, TMD therapy, and airway-related sleep disorders has positioned him as a trusted authority for clinicians and technicians alike.
In addition to his technical and clinical work, Matt serves as Editor-in-Chief of FMC’s Laboratory Magazine, where he champions the future of UK dental technology and promotes excellence in education, standards, and clinic–lab collaboration. He is a Fellow of the College of General Dentistry (FCGDent) and a Fellow of The Orthodontic Technicians Association (FOTA), recognising his longstanding contributions to the profession.

Smile Genius was founded to simplify and strengthen clinic–lab collaboration, bringing transparency, efficiency, and trust to workflows that directly impact patient care. As we scale across the UK and Ireland, Matt’s experience across clinical practice, laboratory leadership, and industry education will play a key role in shaping our product direction and strategic partnerships.
“Matt’s experience sits at the intersection of clinical excellence, laboratory leadership, and industry education, As we continue to build Smile Genius as the standard platform for clinic–lab engagement, his perspective will help ensure we stay grounded in real-world workflows while raising the bar for quality, transparency, and collaboration across the industry.” said Nipun Kathuria, CEO of Smile Genius.
